Selling your used machine: creating a successful listing
Published on October 12, 2026
Sharp photos, complete technical specifications and a realistic price: the keys to selling an industrial machine quickly and at the right price.
Machine buyers are professionals: they compare, ask precise questions and decide quickly when a listing is clear. A complete listing receives more enquiries, and more serious ones.
Photos that inspire confidence
- A sharp overall view, in good light, with the machine clean and unobstructed.
- The nameplate (brand, model, serial number, year).
- The control switched on, with the hour meter if possible.
- The inside of the machining area, the spindle, and the accessories and tooling included.
- Any defects: showing them avoids unpleasant surprises and builds trust.
On our platform, you can take the photos directly in the workshop with your phone: they are automatically compressed before upload.
Complete technical specifications
Fill in every specification you know: travels, capacities, power, CNC control, options, operating hours. Buyers filter their searches on these criteria: a missing value means a listing that does not show up.
An honest description
Describe how the machine has been used and maintained, the overhauls carried out, what is included in the sale and any defects. Add useful documents as PDFs: manual, diagrams, maintenance reports. State whether the machine can be seen running.
The right price
Compare with equivalent machines and be realistic: a well-priced machine sells quickly, while an overpriced one stays online and ends up raising doubts. State whether the price is excl. VAT or incl. VAT, and whether it is negotiable. After publication, the price can only be lowered, and buyers then see the “price reduced” badge.
