Frequently asked questions

Buying or selling a machine, pricing, payment, safety: here are the answers to the questions we are asked most often.

Buying a machine

Do I have to pay to buy on Revikolo?

No. Searching, contacting sellers, saving search alerts and publishing a wanted ad are free for buyers. No commission is charged on the sale.

How do I contact a seller?

From the listing, using the “Contact the seller” button (a free account is required). You can write a message, make an offer, send a viewing request or ask for a transport quote. Your email address is not disclosed to the seller.

Can the price be negotiated?

Yes. The “Make an offer” button sends a specific offer to the seller, who can accept or decline it in one click. The listing shows whether the seller is open to negotiation.

Who handles payment and transport?

The buyer and the seller, directly between themselves. Revikolo puts you in contact but is not involved in the sale. You can ask the seller for a transport quote through the messages, stating the delivery location and the unloading equipment available.

Does VAT apply to a used machine?

If the seller is a VAT-registered company, the price is normally stated either excluding or including VAT: the listing shows “excl. VAT” or “incl. VAT”. A sale between private individuals, or by a seller who is not VAT-registered, is not subject to VAT. If in doubt, ask the seller for a proper invoice.

Is there a warranty?

It depends on the seller. Between companies, used machines are often sold “as is”, and the statutory warranty can be excluded by contract. Before buying, get the condition, known defects and any warranties confirmed in writing, and see the machine running.

I can't find the machine I'm looking for. What can I do?

Save a search alert from the search page: you will be notified as soon as a matching machine is published. You can also publish a wanted ad describing what you need: relevant sellers can reply to you directly.

Selling a machine

Who can sell?

Companies, dealers and private individuals based in Switzerland. Companies are checked against the Swiss business register (UID number) and receive the “verified company” badge; private individuals are clearly marked as such.

How long does it take to publish a listing?

About ten minutes: machine identification, technical specifications, description, photos (up to 20, straight from your phone), PDF documents and price. The listing is translated automatically into the site's other languages (French, German, English). Our team can also enter it for you.

Is my listing published straight away?

A seller's first listings are reviewed by our team, usually within the day. After that, trusted sellers publish directly.

Can I change the price after publication?

Yes, but only downwards: a price cannot be increased after publication. Buyers then see a “price reduced” badge. The brand, model and year can no longer be changed once the listing is live.

Can several people in my company manage the listings?

Yes. From the seller area, invite your colleagues to join your team (owner, administrator or member). The whole team receives the buyers' messages.

Pricing and payment

How much does a listing cost?

During the launch phase, publishing is free. After that, machines below the free threshold remain free; the others are published for one month or until sold, at the rates shown on the Pricing page, incl. VAT.

How do I pay for a listing?

Online, by card or TWINT, on the secure payment page of our provider Stripe. You receive an invoice showing the VAT. The listing is published as soon as the payment is confirmed.

What happens at the end of a one-month listing?

You are notified by email three days before it expires. Once it has expired, the listing is no longer visible; you can renew it in a few clicks from your seller area.

How do I make my listing featured?

From your seller area, use the “Feature” button on a live listing: after payment, it appears on the home page with a “Featured” badge, and at the top of the search results, for the period shown on the Pricing page. A new purchase extends the current period.

Safety

How can I avoid scams?

See the machine before paying, pay into a Swiss account in the company's name and confirm the IBAN by phone, refuse payments by Western Union, cryptocurrency or gift card, and choose your carrier yourself. Our “Buying and selling safely” page explains these precautions in detail.

What does the platform do against fraud?

Companies are checked against the UID register, messages are screened automatically (IBANs, links, risky payment requests) with a warning to the recipient, very suspicious messages are checked by our team, conversations can be reported, and fraudulent accounts are suspended, with the people concerned informed.

Account and data

Where is my data hosted?

In Switzerland, with Infomaniak, in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). No data is sold or used for advertising.

How do I delete my account?

From “My account”, in the “My data” section: you can download all your data and then delete your account. Deletion is permanent.
